I was driving home a few months ago and came up on several state troopers that were pulling over cars to see if the drivers had been drinking. I thought that this should occur more often. I used to be very paranoid when I would see this but not any more. I used to be addicted to drugs and alcohol and now have been clean and sober for over four years now. So I think the cops are doing a great job. Alcohol addiction is bad all over the US. These are I few fact that I have read. Fewer alcohol-related crashes occur when sobriety checkpoints are implemented, according to a CDC report. injury Prevention. Sobriety checkpoints are traffic stops where law enforcement officers systematically select drivers to assess their level of alcohol impairment. The goal of these interventions is to deter alcohol-impaired driving by increasing drivers’ perceived risk of arrest. The conclusion that they are effective in reducing alcohol-related crashes is based on a systematic review of research about sobriety checkpoints. So I say right on to the cops! Addiction to alcohol can be stopped.
